2010 Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon “Enos Vineyard”
The hillside Enos Vineyard produced a lovely 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep ruby violet color with subtle, intriguing aromas of cherry compote, chocolate raspberries and sweet oak. The fruit notes step back and allow the complexity of the site to shine through rich savory tones of black walnut, mulling spices, supple leather and black tea. On the palate, it is luxuriously full bodied and firmly structured, yet very approachable. Rich fruit flavors of black cherry, plum and raspberry preserves act as an anchor for secondary notes of baking spices, wet rock, black pepper and bay leaf. The firm, yet velvety tannins and long, lingering finish promise even further evolution with several more years of cellaring. Pairs well with roasted vegetables, braised short ribs in red wine, or beef stir fry with fresh ginger.
2013 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir “Laguna Nuevo”
The Laguna Nuevo Pinot Noir is medium crimson in color, with heady aromas of dark, ripe fruit and rich black tea spice. Currant, raspberry, black plum and cranberry aromas are supported by cedar box, cinnamon and supple leather notes. the palate follows the nose, anchored by heady flavors of ripe blackberry, pomegranate and cranberry. Secondary notes of clove, cinnamon and sweet black tea lift the palate and beg for another sip as the wine focuses more on pure fruit ripeness as it sits in the glass. A great example of the elegance and grace that Pinot Noir can achieve in the Russian River Valley. We are certain this wine will age gracefully, picking up more and more complexity over the years. Serve with stuffed red peppers, mushroom risotto, honey lime baked salmon, or mediterranean-style lamb burgers.
2013 Russian River Valley Chardonnay “Laguna Nuevo”
Bright aromas of fresh apples, lemon zest, lychee, and vanilla custard. Palate brings fruit froward notes of juicy fresh apple, pear, lemon seam, and hints of candied lemon peel, with a long creamy finish. This lightly oaked Chardonnay goes beautifully with grilled spot prawns, pan seared scallops, and roast chicken.
